 Cyclists & Paddlers

Hey it’s Mac!
I have lived in Benton County since 2001. I started building the Truman Lake Mountain Bike Park in 2002, and it opened in 2008.I love to build trails because they connect communities and give people access to nature and outdoor adventure.
I’ve been putting on mountain bike races since 1996. I love how special events give you a reason to go out and clean trails, and they also give the community something to be proud of. The community also benefits from tourism that the trails draw in.
I loved racing mountain bikes, but love helping getting others involved into the sport even more. When I stopped chasing racing dreams and focused on my bike mechanic skills, I got to travel the world and national pro mountain biking circuit. It was a great experience created through a passion for cycling.
Now I really love coaching kids on trails I built, and I get to keep their bikes in good working order. It’s been fun producing multiple State Championship mountain bike riders.
I also enjoy throwing disc golf on the two beautiful courses we have in Warsaw.

Hey I’m Jenn!
I’ve lived in Benton County for over 20 years, and the opportunities for outdoor adventure never end here. I really enjoy mountain biking and gravel road cycling, but also spend a lot of time on Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks in my kayak. Connecting with the natural beauty of our area, either on a bike or on the water, is my favorite thing.
Over the last ten years I have won 4 State Championship Mountain biking titles, something that would not have been possible without the Truman Lake Mountain Bike Park trail system. I love trails for riding and hiking, and will advocate for them forever as they have had such a positive impact on my life.
I’m proud of what the Truman Lake Adventure Club has accomplished in the last few years. Our youth cycling teams are growing, and it is incredibly rewarding to be part of the kids’ journey.

 Runners

Hey there!
My name is Caressa Maher, and I am 27 years old. I moved to Benton County 3 years ago. Nathan and I have been married since October 2nd, 2021. Nathan’s sister, Erin, said, “Welcome to the family that runs a 5k on Thanksgiving.”  I picked up running as a hobby about a year ago, and have competed in several 5k races. I enjoy the long easy runs, and the short ones too! I really enjoy being outside. I love the area we live in; we have amazing trails, and trail running is intriguing!. I enjoy walking the trails as well. I also enjoy riding my bike, and strength training. Our eight-year-old son, Charles, enjoys tagging along with us on all of our adventures.
Hello!
My name is Nathan Maher, and I am 29 years old. I moved down to Warsaw from the KC area about a year and a half ago when Caressa and I got married. Being active has always been a big part of my life. After struggling with addiction as a teenager and young adult, I managed to get sober thanks to running six miles a day. I now have nine years clean, and continue to run, consistently, to this day.
You have likely seen Caressa and I out running, biking, and hiking the beautiful Benton County trails with our eight-year-old, Charles. We love the community down here and would love to build a fun running group filled with like-minded, active people.
